Building a Better World—For Us, For Our Children, For the Future

“The world we create today is the inheritance we leave for our grandchildren. It’s about values, opportunities, and the future they deserve.” — Dr. Tomi Mitchell

Public health and advocacy aren’t optional—they’re essential responsibilities we owe to ourselves and future generations.

A society’s true measure is how it cares for the vulnerable, not just the privileged. Our choices today shape history for decades to come.

In a divided world, the answer is unity—choosing love over fear, justice over complacency, and action over silence.

This is why I advocate, speak out, and invite you to do the same.

Why Public Health & Advocacy Matter

1. Health is the Foundation of Everything

Without health, there is no economy, productivity, or true success. A society that neglects public health—whether through inaction, inequity, or systemic failures—is building its own collapse. We cannot wait for systems to fail before fixing them, ignore the mental health crisis, or expect overworked frontline workers to carry the burden alone. Public health is about creating conditions where everyone can thrive—not just the privileged.

2. The Future is Being Shaped Right Now

The world we leave behind reflects who we are. Focusing only on the short term is selfish. True leadership means thinking generations ahead and asking:

  • Are we protecting clean air, water, and resources?

  • Are we equipping the next generation to lead wisely and ethically?

  • Are our decisions built to last 50, 100, or even 200 years?

If not, we’re failing as stewards of this planet.

3. Advocacy is a Responsibility, Not a Choice

Many think advocacy means protests or petitions, but it’s really about daily action:

  • Speaking up when things are wrong, even if it’s uncomfortable

  • Challenging harmful systems that marginalize or exploit

  • Holding leaders accountable—not just during elections, but every day

We don’t need more bystanders or silence. We need people ready to do the work.

The Future is in Our Hands

"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors—we borrow it from our children."

The world we leave behind is the truest reflection of who we are. We cannot afford to be passive. We must act, build, and love beyond boundaries.

Let’s do the work—for us, for our children, and for the generations yet to come.
